Frequently asked questions about the running tracker
Short answers to what runners ask most often.
Is RunArc free?
Yes. You can download RunArc for free and record runs without buying anything. Longer-term stats, GPX export, charts and other extras are optional with Premium as an in-app purchase.
Do I need an account?
No. You do not need an account to run or review your runs. Only friends and cloud sync (Premium) in the iPhone app use Sign in with Apple.
Does RunArc work with Apple Watch?
Yes. On Apple Watch you start a run right from your wrist, with GPS and heart rate, even without your iPhone. The Android app has no watch app.
Is there a RunArc app for Android?
The Android version is coming soon. Once it is available, you will find the Google Play link here.
Is RunArc good for beginners?
Yes. The interval planner has a template for beginners that alternates running and walking, and you can set your weekly goal as low as 5 km (about 3 miles).
Can I track my runs in miles?
Yes. In the settings you choose miles or kilometers; pace, voice cues and stats adjust to match.
Can I export my runs?
Yes. With Premium you can export every run as a GPX file, for example for other training apps. Sharing an image of your run is free.
Does RunArc show ads?
No. RunArc does not show ads.
How accurate is the GPS?
RunArc uses your device’s GPS. Under open sky the distance is usually very accurate; between tall buildings, in forests or in tunnels the signal can drift.
Does tracking continue when the screen is off?
Yes. Tracking keeps running in the background. On Android you see a notification that lets you pause or stop.
What do the voice cues announce?
Time, distance and pace – either after every set distance or after a fixed time. During interval training, RunArc also announces every phase change.
Can I run on a treadmill?
There’s no separate recording for treadmill runs – RunArc is built for outdoor runs with GPS.
Are my runs saved to Apple Health?
On iPhone, yes, if you allow it in the app: with distance, calories, steps and route.
Can I compare myself with friends?
In the iPhone app, you can invite friends by code after signing in with Apple and compare your distance. The Android app does not have this feature.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription will not renew.
Which languages is RunArc available in?
In 14 languages, including German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
